    These can be made with store bought candied fruit but since it's easy and tastes amazing with homemade candied fruit I wouldn't advise it.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 C. raisins, golden are prettier
    • 1 C. candied cherries
    • 1 C. candied pineapples
    • 1 C. nuts, chopped, pecans or mixed
    • 1/2 C. dates, chopped
    • 1/2 C. all-purp. flour
    • 1/2 C. golden Crisco
    • 3/4 C. sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
    • 3/4 C. all-purp. flour
    • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt


    Instructions


    1. Fruit, nuts and dates into a bowl with 1/2 cup flour. Mix to coat and set aside.
    2. Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add egg and extracts and mix till smooth.
    3. Combine, 3/4 cup flour, baking soda and salt.
    4. Stir fruit and flour mixture into creamed mixture.
    5. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes. Cool on racks.
    6. Once cooled you can make a drizzle and drizzle them but it's not really needed.
