    Toffee-Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

    Source of Recipe

From "The Outdoor Table" by April McKinney

    Recipe Introduction

"This is a sweet appetizer that the kids will go crazy for. My sister-in-law makes a similar recipe for family gatherings, and we all gobble it up in no time."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
    â—¦ 1 (5-ounce) container vanilla Greek yogurt
    â—¦ â…“ cup powdered sugar
    â—¦ â…› teaspoon salt
â—¦ ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
    â—¦ ¾ cup toffee bits
â—¦ Apple slices or graham cracker sticks, for serving

    Recipe

Combine the cream cheese and yogurt in a large bowl. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat until the mixture is smooth. Add the powdered sugar and salt, and beat until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Place the mixture on a sheet of plastic wrap, and smooth it into a round shape with a spatula. Wrap the ball in the plastic, and refrigerate it for at least one hour.

Spread the toffee bits onto a plate. Roll the chilled cheese ball in the toffee bits, and press the bits into the ball until it is completely covered. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve it with sliced apples or graham cracker sticks.

    Makes 8 to 10 servings
