    Sauce: Bourbon Barbecue Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups ketchup
    • ½ cup molasses
    • â…“ cup bourbon or other whiskey
    • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 to 3 teaspoons hot pepper sauce, such as Tabasco
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • Salt and pepper


    Instructions


    1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

    2. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered and stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and flavors blend, about 20 minutes.

    3. Cool and season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve at room temperature. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks.

      Makes 2½ cups
