    Intensive Nighttime Facial Cream

    Recipe Introduction

    "This is a very thick and rich facial cream that combines three moisturizing carrier oils, ultra-rich shea butter and vitamin E together, along with the essential oils of sandalwood and rosewood to nourish and moisturize your skin while you sleep."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
    â—¦ ½ teaspoon vegetable glycerin
    â—¦ ¾ teaspoon avocado oil
    â—¦ ¾ teaspoon olive oil
    â—¦ ½ teaspoon jojoba oil
    â—¦ 1½ teaspoons shea butter
    â—¦ ½ teaspoon stearic acid
    â—¦ 1 heaping teaspoon emulsifying wax NF
    â—¦ â…› teaspoon vitamin E
    â—¦ 8 drops sandalwood essential oil
    â—¦ 5 drops rosewood essential oil

    Recipe

    Measure out the orange blossom water and vegetable glycerin into a glass measuring cup and sit it in a pot with a few inches of simmering water.

    Measure out the avocado oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, stearic acid, and emulsifying wax into a glass measuring cup and sit it in a pot with a few inches of simmering water.

    When both mixtures have reached 150° F, remove from the heat.

    Carefully pour the oil mixture into a heatproof mixing bowl and begin mixing with a hand mixer set on medium speed. Add in the orange blossom and glycerin and continue to mix for 5 minutes.

    Once the mixture cools to under 100° F, mix in the vitamin E, and the sandalwood and rosewood essential oils. Pour your cream into a sterile container and allow to cool completely. Store in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks.


    Makes approximately 2 ounces


    • To use:
    After cleansing and toning your face, apply a generous amount to your face and neck before bed, and gently massage in using small, circular motions.
