    Syrup: Sunday Morning Blackberry Syrup

    From "The Complete Southern Cookbook" by Tammy Algood

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 cups blackberries
    • 1¼ cups sugar
    • ¼ cup light corn syrup
    • 1 tsp cornstarch


    Instructions


    1. Place the berries in a blender and process until smooth. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a medium saucepan. Discard the solids.

    2. Add the sugar, corn syrup, and cornstarch and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil 1 minute.

      Cool to room temperature and serve.

      Makes 1â…” cups.
