Dressed-Up BLTs

List of Ingredients
- 1 large avocado
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves
- 1 beefsteak tomato, thickly sliced
- 12 slices bacon, cooked until crisp
- 6 ounces blue cheese crumbles
Instructions
- Combine the avocado, mayonnaise, lemon juice, honey and salt in a bowl, and mash together until smooth.
- Spread the avocado mixture onto each slice of bread. On half the bread slices layer the romaine, tomato, bacon, and blue cheese.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top. Gently press the sandwiches, and cut them into halves.
Makes 4 sandwiches
Final Comments
To travel with these BLTs, simply wrap them in plastic wrap, and store them in a cooler until you are ready to serve them.
