    Old-Fashioned Green Pea and Ham Salad

    Recipe Introduction

    "Sometimes the simplest dishes are the best ones. A picnic favorite, this ham and pea salad is a traditional side dish that's a cinch to whip up. The salty ham and sweet green peas make a yummy pair."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ 4 cups frozen peas, thawed
    â—¦ 1 cup small-diced ham
    â—¦ ½ cup finely chopped red onion
    â—¦ â…” cup mayonnaise
    â—¦ 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
    â—¦ 1 teaspoon sugar
    â—¦ ½ teaspoon salt
    â—¦ ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

    Recipe

    In a large bowl combine the peas, ham, and onions.

    In a small bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the pea mixture, and stir until all of the ingredients are coated.

    Refrigerate this dish until you are ready to serve it.


    Makes 8 servings
