    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups butter, melted
    2 cups sugar
    2 large eggs
    1/2 cup molasses
    4 cups all-purpose flour
    4 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground cloves
    2 teaspoons ground ginger
    1 cup white sugar, (to roll in before baking)

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 375°.
    In medium bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs until smooth.
    Stir in molasses.
    In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
    Blend into molasses mixture.
    Cover and chill dough 1 hour.

    Roll dough into walnut sized balls.
    Then roll in white sugar.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
    Bake 10-12 minutes or until tops are cracked.
    Remove to wire racks to cool.

    Yield: 2 dozen.
