    Last Minute “Lasagna”

    Recipe Introduction

We all liked this very much – it is worth using a good quality jarred marinara to make it. I only had Classico and it would have been much tastier with a better sauce. NOTE: regarding baking dish size – I used my 7.5x9.5-inch Pyrex dish and it was too big. I’m going to try a deep 8-inch square dish next time. I think that the bigger dish allowed this to dry out a little.

    List of Ingredients

2 packages (450 g) Knorr Creamy Alfredo Pasta Side Dish prepared as directed on package, BUT REDUCE WATER TO 1 1/2 CUP (FOR TWO PACKAGES). These will be baked in the “lasagna”, so be careful not to overbake at all.

1 lb. (450 g) extra lean ground beef
    Half onion, minced
    1 1/2 cups (375 mL) pasta sauce
1/2 tsp. (2 mL) dried basil
1/2 tsp. (2 mL) dried oregano leaves
1 cup (250 mL) shredded mozzarella cheese

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 350° F (180° C). Spray a baking dish with Pam.

In skillet, brown ground beef and onions. Drain fat. Add pasta sauce and herbs to meat and mix well. Put half the meat sauce in the baking dish. Top with half of the pasta and half a cup of the cheese. Then top with the remaining meat sauce and pasta and a handful of the cheese.

Bake for 20 minutes until bubbly. Let sit 5-10 minutes before serving.

    Serves 4-5.
