    Snowy Dinner Rolls


    1 pkg. active dry yeast or 2 1/4 teaspoons
    3/4 cup warm water (110-115 degrees)
    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons shortening

    Recipe




    In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

    In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening with pastry blender or a fork till shortening is in small bits. Add yeast mixture and mix well.

    Turn onto floured surface and knead 3 or 4 times. Roll out to 3/4 to 1-inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and let rise about 45 minutes.

    Bake at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes or until golden brown.

    Makes 6 to 8 rolls.
