    1 cup milk
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup (1 stick) Margarine
    1 package of active dry yeast
    1/4 cup warm water (105 to 115 degrees)
    1 egg
    4 cups unsifted flour
    6 cups (2- 1 pound 4 ounce cans) drained apple slices
    1 1/3 cups sugar
    1 cup unsifted flour
    4 teaspoons cinnamon
    10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) margarine

    Recipe



    Scald milk; stir in 1/2 cup sugar, salt and 1/2 cup margarine; cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water in large warm bowl. Add lukewarm milk mixture, egg, 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in 2 cups flour to make stiff batter. Cover tightly. Refrigerate 2 hours. ( Dough can be used anytime up to 2 days).

    Combine 1 1/3 cups sugar, 1 cup flour, cinnamon, 10 tablespoons margarine.

    Divide dough in half. On lightly floured board roll half of dough into 13 x 9 rectangle. Place in 13 x 9 x 2" greased baking pan. Arrange half of apple slices on dough. Sprinkle with half of topping. Cover; let rise in warm draft free place about 45 minutes.

    Bake at 375 degrees about 35 minutes or until done. Makes 2 coffeecakes.
