    Caprese Meatball Skewers, on white plate surrounding a small dish of creamy balsamic dipping sauce

    List of Ingredients




    5 Italian Sausage Links (casings removed) or 16 oz. of Ground Italian Sausage
    1/2 Cup of Breadcrumbs
    1/4 Cup of Grated Parmesan Cheese
    1 Nature’s Promise Cage-Free Egg
    2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
    1/2 Tsp. of Salt
    Freshly Ground Pepper (to taste)
    24 Small Mozzarella Balls
    24 Fresh Basil Leaves
    24 Fresh Cherry Tomatoes
    1 Cup of Balsamic Dressing
    1/4 Cup of Mayonnaise
    24 Wood Skewers

    Recipe



    Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
    Mix the sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, salt and pepper in a large bowl just until combined. Shape into tablespoon-sized meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
    Bake the meatballs for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
    Assemble the skewers. Begin with the meatball, then the mozzarella ball, the basil leaf and finally the cherry tomato. Fold larger basil leaves over to skewer.
    Whisk together the balsamic dressing and mayonnaise in a small bowl. Serve with the skewers.
