    Jamaican Beef Balls with Gravy


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
    • 4 small or 3 large eggs, well beaten
    • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
    • 1 teaspoon Accent
    • 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • small piece hot pepper
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
    • Gravy for Beef Balls
    • 1 med. size tomato coarsely chopped
    • 3 shallots sliced
    • 2 stalks celery, chopped
    • 1 cube chicken stock
    • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
    • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
    • pinch thyme
    • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
    • 1 medium onion, diced
    • 1 teaspoon Accent
    • 2 cups boiling water


    Instructions


    1. Add breadcrumbs to ground beef and mix well with a spoon. Add accent, garlic salt, onion salt, black pepper and salt. Add hot pepper minced. Lightly fold in beaten egg. Shape into egg shape balls with a tablespoon. Fry in hot oil, browning well on all sides. Remove balls and set aside.
    2. Gravy
    3. In fat left in frying pan after balls have been removed, fry all chopped ingredients. Add soy sauce, accent, celery seed, and then add boiling water to which chicken cube has been added. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Add beef balls to gravy and simmer for about 20 minutes.
