    Two Cheese-Bacon Biscuits

    2 cups all-purpose flour*
    *If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. instant minced onion
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/3 cup shortening
    3/4 cup milk
    1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (2 oz.)
    1/4 cup bacon-flavored bits or chips

    Heat oven to 450°F. Grease a cookie sheet. Mix flour, Parmesan cheese, baking powder, salt, onion, and pepper in a medium bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in milk, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits until a soft dough forms. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 times. Roll or pat dough to 1/2" thick. Cut with a floured 2 1/2" cutter. Place about 1" apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden. Makes 12 biscuits.
