    Aunt Betty's Great Cornbread

    List of Ingredients




    2/3 C White sugar
    1 t Salt
    1/3 C Butter softened
    1 t Vanilla extract
    2 Eggs
    2 C All-purpose flour
    1 T Baking powder
    1 C Cornmeal
    1 1/3 C Milk

    Recipe



    Pre-heat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease an 8" cast iron skillet. Beat together sugar, salt, butter & vanilla until creamy. Stir in eggs 1-at-a-time while beating well after each addition. Mix together flour, baking powder & cornmeal. Stir flour mixture into egg mixture alternately with milk. Beat well until blended. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with butter & honey.
