Sugar Dipped Butter Cookies

Recipe Introduction


A simple butter cookie with a sweet crunch on top.


List of Ingredients




1 C Sugar
3/4 C Land O Lakes Unsalted Butter, softened
1 Egg
2 C All-Purpose Flour
1 t Baking Powder
1/4 t Salt
Water
+ 1 C Sugar For Dipping

Recipe



Heat oven to 375°F. Combine sugar and butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low, add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat until well mixed.

Place remaining 1 cup sugar in small bowl. Shape dough into 1" balls. Dip top of each ball in water, then in sugar. Place 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8-14 minutes or until edges are very lightly browned. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
