Oatmeal Butter Cookies
1 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 cup quick or old-fashioned oats
Recipe
Preheat oven to 300F. Cream the butter in a bowl. Add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Add the flour and blend well. Stir in the oats.
Roll out on a lightly floured board or canvas to 1/8 inch thickness and cut into shapes with floured cookie cutters. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, then cool. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar, if desired. Makes about 4 dozen
