There is a lot of interest in “IN A JAR” and “MIXES” for giving as gifts. I have some listed in this cookbook, and I’m sure you know of others as well. You should also know that while many cooks have used them successfully and without incident, the BALL and KERR canning supply people do not recommend baking cakes, brownies or breads in their glass jars. They say, “We have not tested them for safe shelf-life, and there is a chance of breakage caused by thermal shock.”

That said, I must say that I will probably post more of these recipes in my cookbook as I find and try them. However, I have been extremely impressed by a web site that specializes in the two kinds of recipes listed above. While I do not have her permission to do so, I must share this find with you as a recommended site, something I rarely do.
