    Old-Fashioned Vanilla I-SCREAM

    Source of Recipe

RIVAL Electric Ice Cream Maker Cookbook w/ some Changes!

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 1/4 cups sugar
    • 1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 5 cups lowfat milk (or the milk of your choice)
    • 4 eggs, beaten
    • 4 cups whipping cream
    • 2 Tablespoons vanilla

    Instructions

    1. Get a medium saucepan and throw in the flour, salt and sugar.

    2. Gradually stir in milk.

    3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture starts to thicken, about 15 minutes.

    4. Gradually stir in about 1 cup of the hot mixture into the beaten eggs. If you DON'T, the eggs will cook when you add them to the hot stuff.

    5. Cook 1 minute and remove from heat.

    6. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

    7. Combine whipping cream and vanilla in big old bowl. Add the chilled mixture, stirring until mixed thoroughly.

    8. Freeze according to the directions that came with your own personal ice cream freezer.

    9. You can also add some delicious things such as chocolate chips or berries to your ice cream before freezing.

    Final Comments

My personal favorite serving suggestion: Get a big old scoop of ice cream. Add dark chocolate fudge sauce, fresh strawberries and chocolate chips. Eat.
