    Source of Recipe

    Received from Friend in 1974

    Recipe Introduction

Crock pot recipe. Great for those hectic, cold weather days!!

    List of Ingredients

    1 1-1/2 pound chuck roast
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 medium carrots, cleaned and sliced
1 large onion (or to taste), chopped
    4 beef boullion cubes
    2 bay leaves
4 cups water (can use 2 cups water and 2 cups beef broth)
    1 cup flour
    Small amount of oil

    Recipe

Cube roast into bite size pieces. Place flour in zipper plastic bag. Add beef. Shake to coat. Brown in oil. Drain. Place beef in crock pot. Add vegetables, boullion, water (and broth, if desired). Place bay leaves on top.

Allow to cook on high for approximately 6 hours. Prior to serving, mix flour (or cornstarch) and water for thickener. Add to stew until desired thickness is reached.

(Other vegetables can be added. This is also great using chicken and chicken broth in place of the beef and beef broth.)

Serves 4 to 6 hungry people.
