    French Toast: French Toast Custard

    List of Ingredients


    • 4-5 slices French Bread
    • 3 Tbls. margarine
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1 1/2 cups milk
    • 1/2 cup whipping cream
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 Tbls. vanilla extract
    • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    • Powdered sugar


    Instructions


    1. Butter both sides of bread and place in an 8x8 greased baking dish.

    2. In a bowl beat the eggs and yolk.

    3. Add milk, cream, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg; mix well.

    4. Pour over the bread.

    5. Cover and refrigerate over night.

    6. Remove from frig 1/2 hr before baking.

    7. Bake uncovered @ 350 for 45-55 minutes til center is cooked.

    8. Cool a few minutes before serving.

    9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
