    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1/2 cup butter
    2 tablespoons water
    1 (29-ounce) can sliced peaches, drained
    12 slices day-old bread
    6 eggs
    1 tablespoon vanilla
    Cinnamon to suit taste

    Recipe



    Combine sugar, butter and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
    Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
    Cool slightly and pour into 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
    Lay peach slices into sauce.
    Lay bread slices on top of peaches.
    Whisk together eggs and vanilla; pour over bread.
    Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
    Cover and chill overnight.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bread is golden brown.
