Sourdough Cheeseburgers

List of Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 Tbls. mayo
- 2 Tbls. ketchup
- 2 Tbls. pickle relish
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 small onion thinly sliced
- margarine
- 8 slices sour dough bread
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl mix mayo, ketchup, and relish.Cover and refrigerate.
- Shape beef into 4 patties season with salt and pepper.
- Fry burgers over med heat til cooked through.
- Remove and keep warm
- In the same pan melt 1 tbls. margarine and saute onions till tender.
- Remove and keep warm
- Butter both sides of bread and and brown one side of bread in skillet
- Turn bread over and top with swiss cheese on four of the slices.
- Cook about two minutes til cheese is melted and bread is browned.
- To serve place toast, cheese side up on platter.
- Top with a burger, relish mixture, onion and remaining toasted bread.
- Serve right away.
Final Comments
No buns............ uses sourdough bread....
