    List of Ingredients





    -3 pounds tri-tip beef
    -1 small onion
    (Walla Walla is the best)
    -18 ounces can Hunts tomato sauce
    -2 teaspoons Wesson Oil
    -3 tablespoons Gebharts Chili powder
    -1 tablespoon Chili Power (mild)
    -5 to 6 tbsp. Reno Red Chili powder
    -1/2 teaspoon Tabasco
    -1/2 teaspoon Oregano
    -6 cloves garlic
    -3 California dried chili peppers
    -1 N.M. dried pepper
    -1 tablespoon plus 1 tsp. salt
    -14 1/2 ounces can Chicken broth
    -14 1/2 ounces can Beef broth
    -3 1/2 tablespoons ground cumin
    -1 teaspoon brown sugar
    -squeeze of lime
    -Dash of MSG

    Recipe



    -Brown meat in oil about one-half hour.
    -Add onion with beef broth to cover meat.
    -Cook to a boil for 15 minutes.
    -Add 1 tbsp. cumin and cook hard for 10 minutes.
    -Reduce heat to a light boil, add garlic.
    -Add one-half of the chili powder & cook for 10 minutes.
    -Add Tomato sauce with the pulp from the dried peppers.
    -Add broth as needed for consistency.
    -Cook for one hour.
    -Add the rest of the chili powder, cumin, and brown sugar.
    -Simmer 25 minutes.
    -Add salt, oregano and squeeze lime.
    -Broths are added during cooking time as needed for liquid.
    -Add Tabasco last.
