    Cream Cheese Brownies

    Brownies
    2 pkgs. (4 oz. each) German sweet chocolate
    6 Tablespoons butter
    2 pkgs. (3 oz. each) cream cheese
    4 Tablespoons butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    2 Tablespoons flour
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Chocolate Layer:
    4 eggs beaten
    1-1/2 cups sugar
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup flour
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    1 cup nuts, chopped

    Recipe

    Brownies:
    Melt German chocolate and the 6 Tablespoons butter over low heat; stir and cool. Beat cream cheese with 4 Tablespoons butter, gradually adding sugar. Cream until fluffy. Blend in eggs, flour and vanilla; set aside. Prepare Chocolate layer.

    Chocolate Layer:
    Beat eggs until light colored. Slowly add sugar; beat until thickened. Add baking powder, salt and flour. Blend in chocolate mixture, vanilla and almond extract. Add nuts.

    Spread 1 cup chocolate batter in a greased 8x8" pan. Top with cheese mixture. Spoon remaining chocolate batter over top. With a knife zig-zag it through the batters to marble. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes until done.
