    Dutch Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients

    Crust:
    -2 c. all purpose flour
    -1 c. packed brown sugar
    -3/4 c. butter melted
    -1/2 c. quick-cooking oats

    Filling:
    -1 c. water
    -2/3 c. sugar
    -3 TBS cornstarch
    -1 1/4 c. diced peeled tart apples (3 large granny smith)
    -1 tsp vanilla (don't be afraid to let the vanilla run over)


    Recipe

    Crust:
    -Combine the first four ingredients; set aside 1 c. for topping.
    -Press remaining crumb mixture into an ungreased 9-inch pie plate; set aside.

    For the filling:
    -Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan until smooth; bring to a boil.
    -Cook and stir for 1 minute, or until thickened.
    -Remove from the heat; stir in apples and vanilla.
    -Pour into crust; top with the reserved crumb mixture.
    -Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
