    French Onion Tomato Soup

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups thinly sliced onions
    • 1/4 tsp. minced garlic
    • 2 Tbls. margarine
    • 1 (46oz) can tomato juice
    • 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules
    • 3 Tbls. lemon juice
    • 2 tsp. parsley flakes
    • 2 tsp. brown sugar
    • 6 slices french bread toasted
    • shredded mozzarella cheese


    Instructions


    1. In a large sauce pan. saute the onions and garlic in butter until tender.
    2. Add the tomato juice, bouillon, lemon juice, parsley and brown sugar.
    3. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
    4. Ladle soup into oven proof bowls and top with french bread. Sprinkle cheese on top.
    5. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is gooey and bubbly.
