Asparagus: Asparagus Puff

List of Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter ( not margarine)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded swiss cheese
- 4 eggs
- 1 envelope Hollandaise Sauce
- 3/4 lb. fresh asparagus ( about 18 spears)
- 4 oz. thinly sliced ham; juilienned
Instructions
- In a large sauce pan, bring the water, butter and salt and pepper to a boil.
- Add flour and cheese; stir until a smooth ball appears.
- Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time; beating well after each addition.
- Continue to beat until mixture is smooth and shiny.
- In a greased 10" pie plate form a shell by pushing dough from the center toward the edges.
- Bake uncovered @ 375 for 30 minutes, or until puffed around the edges and agoldedn brown.
- Put 1/2" water in a skillet and add the asparagus and bring to a boil, Simmer about 4 minutes,til crisp-tender. Drain and keep warm
- Prepare hollandaise sauce according to package directions.
- Arrange the ham and asparagus in the center of the puff ( to resemble a wheel )
- Drizzle the hollandaise sauce over top and serve immediately.
Final Comments
This is so easy to make and looks quite impressive when done.
