    Asparagus: Asparagus Puff

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 cup butter ( not margarine)
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 cup shredded swiss cheese
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 envelope Hollandaise Sauce
    • 3/4 lb. fresh asparagus ( about 18 spears)
    • 4 oz. thinly sliced ham; juilienned


    Instructions


    1. In a large sauce pan, bring the water, butter and salt and pepper to a boil.

    2. Add flour and cheese; stir until a smooth ball appears.

    3. Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.

    4. Add the eggs one at a time; beating well after each addition.

    5. Continue to beat until mixture is smooth and shiny.

    6. In a greased 10" pie plate form a shell by pushing dough from the center toward the edges.

    7. Bake uncovered @ 375 for 30 minutes, or until puffed around the edges and agoldedn brown.

    8. Put 1/2" water in a skillet and add the asparagus and bring to a boil, Simmer about 4 minutes,til crisp-tender. Drain and keep warm

    9. Prepare hollandaise sauce according to package directions.

    10. Arrange the ham and asparagus in the center of the puff ( to resemble a wheel )

    11. Drizzle the hollandaise sauce over top and serve immediately.



    Final Comments


    This is so easy to make and looks quite impressive when done.
