    Cabbage: Iowa Fried Cabbage

    List of Ingredients

    -1/2 pound bacon, diced
    -3 tablespoons butter
    -1 small head cabbage, chopped
    -1 box frozen brussel sprouts
    -1 onion chopped
    -chopped green pepper (optional)
    -salt and pepper to taste
    -1 (4.5 ounce) can mushrooms, with liquid



    Recipe

    -Place bacon in a large, deep skillet.
    -Cook over medium high heat until crisp.
    -drain off most of the grease.
    -chop up cabbage and par boil.
    -Stir into the bacon the cabbage, brussel sprouts, onion, green pepper and salt and pepper.
    -Cover skillet and steam for 15 to 20 minutes.
    -Stir several times.
    -Uncover and alow to brown slightly if desired.
