    List of Ingredients




    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 heaping teaspoons baking powder
    4 tablespoons shortening
    1 cup milk



    Recipe



    Sift flour with salt and baking powder; cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the flour mixture and add milk all at once. Stir with fork until mixed. Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead gently 1-2 minute. Roll with lightly floured rolling pin or pat 1/2 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake on cookie sheet in preheated 450 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. For freezing, bake until fully risen and lightly browned, about 7 to 8 minutes. Freeze on cookie sheets and then put in bags. When ready to use, bake 5 to 7 minutes and serve. Makes 20 to 24 medium-sized biscuits.
