    Brown Bread

    3 cups raisins
    1/2 cup molasses or darkcorn syrup
    4 cups boiling water
    2 eggs, beaten
    4 teaspoons soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 tablespoons margarine
    1 cup chopped nuts
    2 cups sugar
    5 1/2 cups flour

    Simmer raisins in boiling water for 5 minutes. Cool. Add remaining ingredients and
    mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in 5 or 6 greased and floured 1-pound
    coffee cans.
