    Sooo Good Chili

    Source of Recipe

    Jon's Aunt Ann

    Recipe Introduction

This chili is one of the first things I ever cooked for Jon - and he had to get me the recipe! It's fairly easy and very tasty.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1 lb ground pork
    • 1 medium onion
    • 1 clove garlic
    • 2 cans Mexican style stewed tomatoes
    • 1 small can green chilis
    • 1 can black beans - drained
    • cayenne pepper
    • chili powder
    • cocoa powder
    • salt & pepper

    Instructions

    1. Chop onion and press garlic.
    2. In a large pot, begin browning beef and pork. After about 5 minutes, add onion and garlic and finish browning. Drain grease and return meat mixture to pot.
    3. Add tomatoes and green chilis. Bring mixture to a boil, and then lower heat to a simmer. Add seasonings (chili powder, cayenne, cocoa, salt & pepper) to taste.
    4. Simmer on low for at least 1 hour - the longer the better.
    5. 20 minutes before you are ready to serve, stir in the black beans. Simmer for 20 minutes.

    Final Comments

Jon and I like to make "haystacks" with our chili. To make a haystack, put corn tortilla chips in a bowl and then add chili, cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes, lettuce, chopped green onion, and chopped avocado for a delicious meal.
