Microwave Corn on the Cob
My husband taught me how to microwave corn on the cob and we've never cooked it any other way since!
Remove husk and silk from corn. Trim any stems that seem overly long.
Wrap each cob separately in microwave-safe plastic wrap. Make sure the wrap is tight and fold over the ends to seal.
Place cobs on revolving microwave plate with thicker ends towards the center. Microwave on HIGH as follows:
4 minutes for first cob
plus
1 minute for each additional cob
Do not overcook. Let stand at least 1 minute then remove wrap from corn and serve. Be very careful when opening - the steam can cause serious scalds.
This is a great dish for families on the run. If you do not remove the plastic wrap, corn will stay hot for up to 2 hours.
