List of Ingredients
- 3 to 3 1/2 C. unbleached flour
- 1 pkg. rapid rise yeast
- 3/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1 C. very warm water
- 2 T. olive oil
- cornmeal
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine 2 cups flour, undissolved yeast and salt. Stir in very warm water and olive oil. Stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead dough on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 4 to 6 minutes. Cover and let rest on a floured surface to 10 minutes.
- Lightly oil pizza pan/pans. Sprinkle with cornmeal. Form dough into a smooth ball. Roll dough to fit pan.
- Add pizza ingredients of your choice. Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees F. for 20 to 30 minutes or until done. Time depends on the size and thickness of your crust and selection of toppings.
- GARLIC & HERB DOUGH- Add 2 tsp. basil, oregano or rosemary leaves and 1 clove finely minced garlic with dry ingredients.
- CORNMEAL DOUGH- Replace 1/2 cup of the flour with 1/2 cup cornmeal as you combine dry ingredients.
- CHEESE DOUGH- Add 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese along with the other dry ingredients.
- WHOLE WHEAT DOUGH- Replace 1 cup of the flour with 1 cup whole wheat flour.
