    List of Ingredients


    • 3 C. unbleached flour
    • 1 T. baking powder
    • 3/4 tsp. sea salt
    • 1/2 C. unsalted butter
    • 1/4 C. Crisco
    • 1 1/2 C. superfine sugar
    • 2 jumbo eggs
    • 1/3 C. milk
    • 1 1/2 C. fresh blueberries
    • 3 T. pecans, chopped
    • 2 tsp. grated lemon rind


    Instructions


    1. Combine flour, baking powder and sea salt and set aside.

    2. Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and blend well. Add flour a bit at a time alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Fold in remaining ingredients.
    3. Form into balls a bit bigger than an inch and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F. for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.


    Final Comments


    These can also be made by using fresh black berries or raspberries in place of the blueberries.
