    I discovered on my quit that baking is a great way to de-stress. Recently, I have become very interested in cook books with reminiscences. I am reading Spoonbread With Strawberry Wine and just made Heaven Cake from this cook book. It's now on my top ten list for cakes to make for a dessert buffet. It was so easy to make. I also topped it with honey icing from the same cook book. Anyone else know of good cook books with memoirs?

    List of Ingredients





    4 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 pint heavy cream
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 1/2 cups self rising flour


    Honey Icing
    2 tbs. softened butter
    2 tbsp. honey
    2 cups confectioner's sugar
    a drop of vanilla
    a pinch of salt
    1 egg white (unbeaten)

    Recipe




    Beat eggs for five minutes, until light and foamy. Add cream and continue to beat another five minutes. Pour in sugar, continuing to beat well. Last blend in flour and vanilla. Bake in a greased tubular pan at 350 for fifty minutes or in two eight inch cake pans for thirty minutes. Dust with confectioner's sugar or frost as desired.

    Cream the butter and honey together, adding 1/2 cup of sugar, a drop of vanilla and the salt. Stir well. Add egg white and remainder of the sugar. Beat until smooth and ice cake.
