    1 cup shortening
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1 egg white
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 cups flour
    1 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Cream shortening and sugar together; add egg yolk, vanilla, cinnamon, and flour. Mix thoroughly. Spread 1/4 inch thick in a well-greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Beat egg white slightly and brush over top of dough. Cover with thin layer of pecans (or ad pecans to dough and sprinkle additional nuts on top). Bake 30 minutes at 350 F. Cut while warm and remove when cool.

    Makes 75 cookies (1 x 2 inch sticks).
