    Broccoli Dip

    Another from the '70's. The original called for a roll of garlic cheese. I never had that on hand, so this is my adaptation.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 package frozen chopped broccoli, cooked and drained
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1/2 stick butter
    • 2 cups white sauce or 1 can cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 can chopped mushrooms, chopped further
    • 1 cup grated sharp cheese
    • Dash cayenne
    • 1 clove garlic, minced


    Instructions


    1. Saute onions in butter until soft. Make white sauce, if using. Combine remaining ingredients. Heat through. Pour into chafing dish for presentation. Keep warm.


    Final Comments


    Serve with crackers.

    Note: This is also good as a sauce over chicken or with chicken added and served over rice or pasta.
