    Peanuts: Fried

Growing up in Pennsylvania, blistered peanuts, so-called because of their bubbly texture, were a wonderful treat.

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 cups raw peanuts
    • Boiling water to cover
    • Oil for frying

    Instructions

    1. Put raw peanuts in a metal bowl or saucepan. Pour boiling water to cover by a good inch. Let set about half an hour. Drain for another half hour.
    2. In large frying pan, pour oil 1 inch deep. Heat to high-medium-high. Fry about half the peanuts for 4-5 minutes or until lightly browned. Test for doneness. Repeat with remaining peanuts. Let dry on several thicknesses of paper towels.

    Final Comments

Add salt to taste. These are hard to resist!!
