    Braised Lamb and Beans

    List of Ingredients




    Bake this in a large browning bag at 325 for about 2 hours.

    Ingredients:
    @ 4 lbs. lamb (shanks, ribs, even ground)
    2 heads garlic, cloves separated
    2 ribs celery, sliced
    1 lb. carrots, peeled and cut into 2" pieces (or
    a bag of small carrots)
    1 large onion (or more) quartered or cut into 1/8's
    1/2 c. red wine
    1 qt. tomatoes
    1 can beef broth
    2 t. rosemary
    5 + dried chiles
    S & P
    1 bay leaf
    3 cans Great Northern beans

    Put everything in the bag that has been treated according to manufacturer's directions.

    Browning bags are, as Dick says, better than sliced bread. I adapted a recipe I'd found somewhere and came up with this super-easy version. The browning bags ensure quick clean-up.
