Barb, I'm so glad I finally found someone who knows that "au just" means "with jus" and doesn't refer to "making the au jus" etc!! Thanks for your literate, helpful recipe!

Hi. Great site. I was growing tired of the sites that only contained a couple of recipes and sent me to their own web sites! I came here for convenience, got kind of aggravated at them. Your's was different and had my grandmother's penuche recipe on it! We just called it 'Brown Sugar Candy.' That is the Appalachian mountain name for it , I think. It is all I ever heard.
