    Meatloaf

    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lb. hot or mild Italian sausage, pulled out of casings if using links
    2 lg. eggs
    1 1/2 c. bread crumbs or oatmeal
    1 pkg. Lipton Onion soup mix
    1 can of stewed tomatoes
    1 med. onion, chopped fine
    salt and pepper, to taste

    Recipe



    Mix all of the ingredients together, until thoroughly blended.

    Place in a baking dish.

    Bake at 350, for 1 hr. and 15 mins.


    Stewed Tomato Sauce

    2 cans stewed tomatoes
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    2 T. flour

    Drain drippings from meatloaf, reserving 2 T.

    Put drippings in a pan, and place on med-high heat. Add chopped onion and pepper. Cook until limp, but not browned.

    Stir in 2 T. flour, then the cans of stewed tomatoes. Cook several mins., until thickened. If not thick enough, mix 1 T. cornstarch with a little cold water, and stir into tomatoes. Stir until thickened.

    Slice meat loaf, and serve with Stewed Tomato Sauce over it.
