Sue's Pickled Green Onions

List of Ingredients
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
3/4 c. white vinegar
1/4 tsp. salt
few drops green food coloring
few drops yellow food coloring
4 c. sliced onions
1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. celery seed
Recipe
In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cool.
Add a few drops of green and yellow food coloring to syrup, to make an attractive green color.
In a 1 qt. container, combine onions, mustard seed and celery seed.
Pour syrup over all.
Cover container, and let stand over night.
Add more onions to fill container.
Refrigerate for 2-3 days before serving.
Onions will keep in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
