    This is a fabulous recipe for sauce...Try it you won't be
    disappointed!


    List of Ingredients




    2 lbs. Italian sausage, mild or hot, mild and hot mix is great too!
    1 lg. onion, chopped
    3-4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
    2 6 oz. cans tomato paste
    2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
    2 c. water, for a long period of simmering, for flavors to meld. If you don't want to simmer as long, add less water
    3 tsp. basil
    2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
    1 1/2 tsp. brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4-1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes, depending on how hot you like it
    1/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
    1/4 c. Cabernet Red wine
    1 lb. thin spaghetti
    Parmesan cheese

    Recipe



    In a lg. heavy pot, brown Italian sausage, breaking up as you stir.

    Add onions, and continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened.

    Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water, basil, parsley, brown sugar, salt, crushed red pepper, and black pepper.

    Stir well, and barely bring to a boil.

    Stir in Red wine.

    Simmer on low, stirring frequently for about 1 hr.

    Cook spaghetti according to pkg. directions.

    Spoon sauce over drained spaghetti, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

    Makes 8-10 servings
