    Recipe Introduction

~I made these for Easter. Delicious and so easy!~
    Blue Ribbon Dinner Rolls

    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
    1 cup milk
    1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, margarine or shortening
    1 teaspoon salt
    4 to 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 eggs

    Soften yeast in warm water.

In a saucepan heat the milk, sugar, butter and 1 teaspoon salt just until warm (115° to 120° F.) and butter is almost melted.

Turn into a large mixing bowl. Stir in 2 cups flour, beat well. Add the softened yeast and eggs, stir until smooth.

Stir in as much of the remaining flour as you can mix in with a spoon.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.

Knead in enough of the remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough that is smooth and elastic, 6 to 8 minutes total.

Place in a lightly greased bowl; turn once to grease the surface.

Cover; let rise in a warm place until double, about 1 hour.

Punch down dough; divide in half. Cover; let rest 10 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 375°F.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Yield: 18 dinner rolls.
