    Judy's Snickerdoodles

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 cup shortening
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    2 cups all-purpose flour -- see note*
    2 teaspoons cream of tartar
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt

    Combine all ingredients well and chill dough (not a must). Roll mixture into balls and roll in a mixture of 2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tbsp. cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 F. for 8 to 10 minutes.

    NOTES : Add 3/4 cup extra flour to mixture. This recipe comes from my cousin, Judy Blewitt.
