World's Worst Brownies
The best brownies you'll ever taste.
The worst for you, ever.
Chewy white chocolate-chunk brownies with rich, espresso buttercream frosting. A billion calories per square inch. By law, you can only make these once every five years.
Brownies:
10 ounces white chocolate, coarsely chopped, divided
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sweet butter, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously butter and flour a 9" x 13" baking pan.
In the top of a double boiler, melt half (5 ounces) of the white chocolate. Set aside. In a food processor, beat eggs well. Slowly add sugar and beat until smooth. Mix in flour and salt. Add melted chocolate, melted butter and vanilla. Quickly fold in remaining white chocolate chunks.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 25 minutes, or until lightly golden on top. Let cool completely in pan.
Frosting:
1 package (6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon instant espresso crystals (or instant coffee)
2 tablespoons Amaretto (or coffee liqueur)
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) sweet butter, chilled and cut into chunks
1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
Melt the chocolate chips and espresso in a double boiler. Let cool a little. Stir in Amaretto. In a food processor, mix together the butter with the espresso mixture. Add the powdered sugar. Frost brownies and allow the frosting to set (you can refrigerate it).
Makes about 20.
