1 pound boneless pork -- beef or raw,
cleaned shrimp, cut in 1/4-inch pieces
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 large onions -- cut in 6 wedges
1 bunch celery -- in 1-inch pieces

10 ounces bean sprouts
3 tablespoons cornstarch

Heat vegetable oil, salt and pepper in a skillet. Add the pork, beef or shrimp. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes, stirring frequently. (If shrimp are used, remove from pan at this point). Cut and add the onion wedges and celery pieces. Add soy sauce and cook over low heat, stirring almost constantly. Mix in the molasses and hot beef broth; cover and cook over low heat 15 minutes. Add the bean sprouts; cook 3 minutes. Mix cornstarch with the 1/4 cup water and add to the skillet, stirring constantly until thickened. Return shrimp to skillet at this point. Cook 2 minutes more.
