    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

    1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    2 cups bread crumbs -- divided
    1 egg -- slightly beaten
    1 1/4 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    8 ounces tomato sauce
    1 tablespoon butter
    2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese -- grated
    2 tablespoons minced parsley

    Add 1-1/4 cups breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder and Italian seasoning to ground beef; add the tomato sauce and mix well. Shape into a 9-inch loaf; place on jelly roll pan. Bake in preheated 350 F. oven for 40 minutes.
    In a small pan, melt the butter, add remaining 3/4 cup breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese and parsley flakes; toss lightly. Spoon on top of meatloaf and bake until crumbs are golden, about 5 minutes.
