    Homemade Italian Bread Crumbs

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 pound loaf Italian or French bread
    1/2 cup minced parsley
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1 clove garlic -- minced
    1 teaspoon crumbled basil leaves
    1/4 teaspoon crumbled rosemary leaves
    1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
    6 tablespoons olive oil

    Slice and toast about 1/2 of the loaf of bread (the center portion) to make 1-1/2 cups coarse crumbs. Mix with remaining ingredients; cover and refrigerate up to 5 days, using as needed. (Can do this in a food processor, If desired.)

    Makes about 1-1/2 cups
